The last time we heard from Joaquin Pheonix, he was shaggy, scruffy and rambling. This video, which of course is generated by PETA shows a clear, concise and cleaned up Joaquin talking about the plight of exotic skins.
I am not one to jump on the PETA bandwagon, although I spent a couple of years being a vegetarian. Also I would never in a million years wear animal fur having had several chinchillas as pets. Yes, I have a few leather items but we ate the cow, I can’t remember the last time I saw a mink burger on the menu.
So, the point? Even though a lot of people aren’t into reptiles this video shows how callous and cruel the treatment is to get those skins. I have to warn you it’s pretty graphic. And kind of sad. Kudos to Joaquin for putting this out there. While I’ve never worn snake skin shoes, (who can afford them) after watching this clip, I never will.
If anyone could use a trip to the vet for a good spaying, it would be Octomom, Nadya Suleman. So ironic that Nadya has hooked up with PETA (for a fee, of course) to promote spaying and neutering pets. Octomom reportedly is having problems coming up with enough cash to pay off the balloon payment on her house, so PETA tossed her a bone in the form of five grand to put a sign in her yard asking people to spay and neuter their animals. Yes, we should all take advice from Nadya. Next up, signs for turkey basters and petri dishes.
Dave Navarro is naked again, this time for a PETA ad. Dave took his turn at stripping down and posing for a good cause. The ad is rather risque, you can see it HERE The ad states: “Ink, not mink. Be comfortable in your own skin and let animals keep theirs.”
Dave looks pretty good for 42 years old. He’s a little too feminine for my taste. He needs to link the ink on his sleeves. Those 80′s tattoos could use a major fill in.
That said, I’d still hit it.
