Richard Belzer had to go on the Joy Behar show to clear himself of any wrong doing in the choking allegation of a Apple store employee. The Law & Order SVU star came under fire for alledgedly choking some annoying chick at the Apple store in Manhattan.
The woman dialed 911 and reported Belzer for assault. I can totally see where Belzer is coming from. I always feel like choking employees in electronics stores. All those tv’s, computers and video games going off at once? System overload, now mix it with a snotty employee who ignores you for 5 minutes and well…
But that’s not what happened with Belzer and fortunately for him the store survillence tape showed that he didn’t strangle the woman, just gently placed his hands on her shoulders and requested that she get up off her lazy ass and assist him. Okay, I made that last part up.

I have personally met Richard Belzer and Harlee Mcbride. They are the kindest couple I know.
The surveillance tape speaks for itself that he didn’t choke her. All I can see is mis-communication and cultural differences, not threats to anyone.
Richard and Harlee spend half their time in France. In both France and in the culture of acting, personal space is closer. And he did apologize that she felt her personal space had been threatened.
