Montel Williams starred on his own talk show for 17 seasons, penned a best-selling book and hawks tons of merchandise but he says he’s broke these days. In fact he couldn’t scrape together $7,500 in attorney fees for his kids.
Williams and his ex-wife Grace split almost 10 years ago but are still battling it out in court over custody of their two children, Montel II and Wintergrace, now teenagers. The latest court dispute is about the kids wanting Montel to step up and be present in their lives. If Montel can’t get with the program they’d rather leave decisions about their upbringing to their mom and just collect the $18,700 monthly child support Williams shells out.
I can’t believe Montel can’t come up with 7 grand. I bet Jerry Springer has 7 thousand dollars. All in ones, stashed for his Saturday night strip joint fund.
