Famous New York Wedding Photographers take the photos that are a must have in the world of celebrity weddings. They can also be a smart investment if a celebrity plays their cards right. Recently, People magazine overpaid an obscene amount of money for the rights to Kim Kardashian’s NYC Wedding Photos. The bidding war ended after the weekly magazine outbid every other tabloid, and won the opportunity to spread the glitz and glamour at a laughable bargain of $1.5 million. The funniest part about the winning bid is…the pictures are boring? People Magazine clearly got caught up in winning such an exclusive offer, as they really didn’t have much to showcase of such a famous big name wedding between Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries.
Even if this romance turns out to be like most celebrity weddings, the happy couple have walked away with some serious cash on their wedding day. The best part is there was the second wedding reception in New York City on August 31st.
The New York Post reported a breakdown of exactly how much the Kardashian/Humphries made on their special day. The E! Wedding special brought in $15M, wedding photos to People: $1.5M, engagement photos: $300K, bridal shower photos to OK! racked up another $100K, bachelorette party at Tao, Las Vegas: $50K.
To add to the money coming in, the freebies were at a premium; there were the free invitations and half a million dollars of Perrier-Jouet champagne for free as well. Business owners were clearly happy to hand out some freebies to get their name mentioned. Not only is her use of a product the best endorsement money can buy, it can drive trends according to Mogulite.com. Trends translate into people buying things and in turn, that drives the economy.
This wedding in my opinion is a business investment. The Kardashians, as annoying as they are, know how to bring in the dollars. Call out some celebrities for guests, pimp out the cost of the photos and freebies, and laugh your way to the bank.
